I'm Marcus
since almost three decades I am part of the IT industry. I worked in almost any role you can imagine which delivers software solutions or organizational changes for customers.
I joined yougotdigital to reach out to CEOs, Founders and Company Owners to tackle the cause of stalling transformation at the source. In hundreds of engagements I learned it is not your team, it is not your products, nor is it the CIO or the competition. If the company is not yet fully digital, it is the CEO. The one person responsible for the destiny of the enterprise. Period!
Started as a side hustle to pay my bills, I learned programming from scratch in my early twenties and became a professional software developer. Armed with those skills I started a career in the IT consulting business where I learned that in most cases the IT is disconnected from the business. And just the opposite of the whole "agile and vision driven" modern approach seem to be quite normal.
I also learned, that the degree of transformation and the speed of adoption is the key to success in the digital age. In hundreds of engagements I experienced frustrated CIOs and IT staff which were bonded to just keep the status quo and had to reduce costs, no matter what. I saw first handed what all the big consulting companies are backing by many studies: It is not the IT which hinders the transformation. It is the executive management which does.
In contrast, almost every successful IT related activity shows the engagement of the senior management.
